Spray foam insulation. is an effective, but more expensive, solution for floor insulation in your shed.. one of the drawbacks for spray foam is that you need backing for it to adhere to the surface. if you are installing insulation on a pre-built shed, you cannot simply drill a hole in the floor and pump it full of spray foam.. Polystyrene is very easy to work with and i already use it for my quilt design walls. this added an additional r3 of insulation to the floor and made me a lot more confident that the space would stay nicely warm in the winter. installing the insulation under the shed this wasn't a fun job, but it didn't take as much time as i expected..
